Is you ego so huge that you created an entire website to brag?

Fair question. I certainly hope that’s not what this is. Bragging wasn’t my intention, but looking back over the years, I am overwhelmed with thankfulness. What an adventure life has been!  And, as far as I can tell, it has a lot further to go.

So, why this website? Sometimes it is necessary to craft a presentation of your qualifications in order to establish credibility. Credibility is often a prerequisite for having meaningful conversations. The Apostle Paul did that in Philippians 3 and 2 Corinthians 11. Understanding and respect are essential for building trust. If you don’t take me seriously or, conversely, I fail to appreciate you, it is unlikely we’ll be able to connect very deeply.

I value making new friends and building greater networks. On the other hand, neither of those goes far unless I exchange rapport and respect  with my new acquaintances.

There’s an instructive short passage from the New Testament. It says Jesus had to leave His hometown of Nazareth because He could no longer perform miracles there. What? The Son of God was disempowered? Matthew 13:58 says that He could not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

There’s a moral here. Unless we esteem the people we meet, we’re unlikely to ever benefit much from knowing them.
